Access Operations

GCHQ is offering you an exciting opportunity to join our Access Operations Team. Responsible for working across GCHQ’s accesses, you’ll ensure we’re able to provide intelligence to support ongoing operations, identifying potentially crucial information to assist teams such as counter terrorism or serious crime, as well as pioneering new capabilities.

ABOUT US

As one of Britain’s intelligence agencies, we unlock the complex world of communications to keep our nation safe. We work closely with our partners in the intelligence community to safeguard Britain’s people, interests and businesses from various threats. Think cyber-attacks, espionage, terrorism, and organised crime. It’s challenging, varied and meaningful work that you simply won’t find anywhere else.

THE ROLES

There are various roles within Access Operations. Currently, the below role is available:

1) Network Optimisation Analyst

Our Network Optimisation Analysts are responsible for analysing IP networks and Internet technologies in order to support other teams within the organisation. This role will enable you to develop strong analysis skills while finding collection solutions to satisfy intelligence requirements. You’ll be given exposure to a breadth of data collected from various sources, as well as the opportunity to develop the skills required to do the job.

While the role is challenging, our flexible working policy ensures a healthy work-life balance. Wherever possible, we look to accommodate reduced hours or job share options balanced against business needs.

REQUIREMENTS

To apply for this role, you’ll need an A level in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths subject.

Along with an understanding of how IP networks are configured and managed, you have an analytical mind-set and a willingness to learn. You also have the ability to adapt to ever changing situations and are able to utilise your analytical skills to keep pace. With an enquiring mind, you'll have a creative approach to problem solving and aren’t deterred when there isn’t an immediate answer.
